DUO highly commended in Cosmo awards

This year Cosmopolitan launched its very first Click Fix Online Fashion Awards. A celebration of those can’t-live-without fashion websites. Voted for by readers and with an expert panel, including Cosmo’s Fashion Director, Shelly Vella, personal stylist Mark Heyes and fashion guru Louise Redknapp.

And guess what, DUO came highly commended in the ‘Best for Curves’ category! We were over the moon to receive the award and delighted to know that we were voted for by the readers themselves.

We beat off stiff competition, which goes to show the importance of women being able to complete an outfit with a gorgeous pair of perfectly fitting boots. Every month we are receive hundreds of emails from happy customers who are just so delighted that finally they can find a pair of boots that zip up.

Online shopping is clearly the way forward for those who are short on time or hate the bustle of the high street. What could be better than sitting down with a cup of tea and a biscuit and going shopping at the same time!

Thank you to all who voted for us, we really are chuffed!

DUO make shoes for wide feet too!

I've just had a sneaky peek at the brand new collection of shoes that DUO have created for the Spring and Summer season. Joy oh joy - I have absolutely fallen in love with these styles. They've got this brilliant pair of taupe coloured 'cut away' shoe boots called Lola (£80) - I've been spying this trend in all my favourite mags - Grazia, In Style and Eve. They'll look perfect with my skinny-fit jeans or my new opaque tights. And because I have no idea what the weather's going to do in this next few weeks (remember last year when it was wall-to-wall sunshine in March?) shoe boots are the perfect answer to those transitional wardrobe dilemmas.

I'm totally head over heels in love with all those vibrant citrus coloured leathers and suedes in the collection. Pistachio green demi-wedge heels will get anyone noticed in a crowd, for all the right reasons! And for the most perfect pair of cutsey ballet pumps, check out Felicity (only £55) that cherry red leather will go with just about everything in my wardrobe. And can you believe that there's a great choice of these styles that are available in different foot widths. Shoes for wide feet that are completely spot-on with the trends.. that's something I've been wishing would happen for ever.

With this much choice I'd better wait until pay day and hope my husband doesn't look too closely at my bank statements!!

Happy spring shopping.

Still so much choice in the DUO sale

Just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, it does! DUO have dropped prices in their amazing perfectly fitting boots and shoes sale even further, with up to 50% off some styles including the fabulous Lisbon boot. You can justify the cost knowing that they are a classic style that just won’t go out of fashion.

In the shoes range, Charm, at only £35, will be great for spring as it starts to get a little bit warmer. Perfect with dark jeans, a red a white striped scarf and a navy blazer for the brilliantly easy nautical trend.

It looks like patent is coming through for another season. A perfect opportunity therefore to pick up a pair of Odessa at the super shiny price of £65.

My bank balance still hasn’t quite recovered from Christmas so I am thrilled that there are still bargains to be had. I don’t think it will last much longer though so I’m off to make a cup of tea and then I’ll pore over all of perfectly fitting options just a little bit more…

The DUO sale has started!

We all love the sales and finding a good bargain but personally I don’t like leaving the comfort of my own home. We’ve all seen the pictures of the high streets full of shoppers, when really they could all be at home logging onto duoboots.com with a cup of tea to hand.

I’m sure all the gorgeous boots and shoes will be flying off the virtual shelf just as quickly though. You still have to get in quick, you just don’t get elbowed on the web!

Prices start fantastically low price at £69. What a great price for a product that you don’t have to compromise on fit or quality. Gorgeous green Genova has been reduced by a massive £40 (enough to by a dress to go with it maybe?!).

I think Bonn are my favourite bargain boot…casual and mega comfy, perfect for walking off the extra Christmas pounds. Rhine would be perfect for any après ski activities and selling at just £85.

The perfect fit shoe collection has also got some gems at a snip of their former price.

On a practical note, Elly (£52) and Oreol (£48) would be great for the office. Either with a pair of long slinky black trousers or possibly a sharp pencil skirt.

I hope you all got thoroughly spoilt at Christmas by others and now here’s your chance to spoil yourself guilt free.

Happy shopping from your sofa!

Merry Christmas one and all from DUO!

PHEW – the tree is up, presents wrapped, and after several lavish dinner parties the festive season is well and truly in full swing. (With no time or cash to spare to add the finishing touches to my party-look, I dug out some lovely old Duo high heel boots that I’d pushed to the back of the wardrobe and got heaps of compliments) – and I’m totally, utterly, completely exhausted! I bought a pair of Navia last year, and they go with everything. It’s the kind of style that just won’t date anytime soon – which is important if, like me you’re on a limited budget.

I’ve done all my Christmas shopping online this year – why drag both kids through the freezing cold and crowds in Bath and Frome when I can do all my browsing in the comfort of our spare bedroom. Paying for postage really doesn’t bother me when I know that I’ve saved heaps on diesel and parking charges. Saves dashing into town in the car every time I’ve realised there’s someone missing from my ever-growing pile of presents. Duo were offering free postage just before Christmas, so I’ve emailed all my mates and told them to dive in while all their favourite boot styles are still on the shelf. Leather boots that cost c.£100 may seem like an extravagant gift – but if, like me you have skinny legs and just loathe that endless trawl around the shops in sale time trying to find some that fit my hopelessly petite shape - believe me you’ll make someone VERY happy with a pair of Duo calf fitting boots.

Have a brilliant break – eat lots, drink lots and generally indulge yourself. And lets be thankful that there are at least two good reasons to smile when the weather gets this miserable... a Christmas holiday from work and the opportunity to wear your favourite boots all day every day!

I am now well and truly into Christmas mode!

I wrapped a ton of presents to the dulcet tones of Slade and Roy Wood at the weekend and am now madly trying to get through everything at work before the Christmas holiday.

The party dress needs a quick wink at the iron before our office party on Thursday BUT I’VE NO SHOES TO WEAR TO THE BALL! I think DUO's Holly in black suede will fit the bill perfectly – after all, you can’t go wrong with black suede for a party. So I’d best place my order sharpish so I’ve got them in time for our ‘do’ later this week.

It’s been as busy as ever on the PR front in the office and so great to see how many mags have featured our boots this year. I’ve just been reading this month’s Cosmo (January issue) which features both black patent and grey Odessa, burgundy Samara and green Moscow on the ‘Ask Shelly’ page. Company and Woman and Home also ran lovely pieces on us this month so here’s hoping they help us spread the little black book secret that is DUO’s Perfectly Fitting Boots!

We’re already thick in the midst of planning the launch of the Spring/Summer ’08 Shoe collection in PR, which does feel weird as there was a gorgeous frost on the ground this morning. The recent turn in the weather has atleast meant I’ve managed to get some more wear out of my boots – I’ve been working the ‘80s slouch look in my Messina this Autumn/Winter and they just get better with age.

But for the next couple of weeks I’m definitely in party mode ,so bring on those killer heels…Have an absolutely fabulous, glittering Christmas – hope you get everything you wish for!

Christmas shopping… for me!

Eek…less than 5 weeks till Christmas and I still haven’t even thought about Christmas shopping! I don’t know about you but I still don’t feel like my winter wardrobe has reached its full potential yet. I have made some great key buys but now we are approaching party season, that’s a whole new wardrobe required.

My caramel Bern have been great recently as the weather has been getting crisper. Perfect for long walks and kicking the last remaining Autumn leaves. The sheepskin lining is fantastic for keeping you toasty warm and cosy. The Independent put them in their 10 Best Women’s Boots and I couldn’t agree more.

I’m not a heels girl at heart, as much as I would love to be. Kirov are as about as high as I can go. They have been great for a couple of weddings and birthday parties – occasions that have run from the day into the night. Usually my shoes would have been discarded in the early evening but my Kirov’s stay on all night long – a miracle!

I think I am going to have to glam it up for the coming weeks though. I have just bought the obligatory Little Black Dress. I think black Genova will go beautifully. Gorgeous thick suede that feels luxurious and oozes sumptuousness. Perfect for me also with the hidden platform heel – love it! Accessories will be all I’ll need then to add that bit of sparkle.

Actually 5 weeks is a really long time. Perhaps a few more pieces for me won’t hurt…
